OAKLAND, California (March 22, 2016) — A pedestrian was struck and killed early Tuesday morning by a driver on the northbound Interstate 880 Freeway at the Market Street off ramp, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash was reported about 5:10 a.m. in the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway. A driver in a black 2004 Pontiac GTO told authorities he ran over something and pulled over to the right shoulder near Grand and 7th.
Police issued a SigAlert for the crash and called for the coroner to respond to the scene. There were no further details provided in the report.
