Pedestrian Killed in Oakland Accident on MacArthur Boulevard Thursday
OAKLAND, CA (February 26, 2021) – A pedestrian accident killed a woman along MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland.
According to an article published by the East Bay Times, the tragic collision took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the crash at about 3:25 p.m.
The incident happened on February 25 when a 31-year-old Fremont woman and her co-worker were crossing MacArthur Boulevard from the south sidewalk.
The two were going to their car parked along the northern side. At the same time, a two-axle dump truck slowed down for them and waited.

In the process, a backup occurred. A Nissan Maxima traveling eastbound then crossed the double yellow lines to get pass the other vehicles.
Oakland police said the Nissan struck the female pedestrian in the 300 block of MacArthur Boulevard. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
They confirmed that the victim died as a result of the accident. Her name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the Maxima failed to stop after hitting the pedestrian. The motorist continued and ultimately left the area.
Officials later tracked down the owner of the Nissan, a 35-year-old Berkeley woman, and questioned her. The fatal crash is still under investigation.
