Man, 41, Killed in Oakland Hit-and-Run Crash on Park Boulevard

OAKLAND, CA (May 10, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Park Boulevard in Oakland.

According to the East Bay Times and CBS San Francisco, the fatal accident occurred on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the collision on May 9 at about 5:14 p.m.

The incident happened when a male pedestrian was standing on the sidewalk in the 3800 block of Park Boulevard in Oakland. At the same time, a Lexus GS was going north.

For an unknown reason, the car went off the roadway. Police said the driver of the Lexus struck the 41-year-old Oakland man apparently waiting for a bus.

Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene in the Glenview neighborhood. They found the victim left lying on the ground with major trauma as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital, where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist slammed into two parked vehicles after hitting the pedestrian. He abandoned his car and soon fled on foot.
