Pedestrian Hit and Injured by Vehicle on Interstate 88- Saturday
Oakland, CA (August 21, 2021) – A pedestrian suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run collision on Interstate 880 early Saturday, the East Bay Times News reported.
Officials said a car struck an individual on the northbound lanes of 880 Freeway near High Street. According to the article published online, the pedestrian stumbled while walking on the roadway. At about the same time, an oncoming vehicle failed to avoid and hit the man.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Responding medical personnel found the pedestrian with serious injuries. Due to the condition of the victim, an ambulance rushed him to a hospital for treatment.

No immediate information was available on the driver involved in the collision.
Investigators continue to work at this time to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect in the pedestrian accident in Oakland.
