OAKLAND, Calif. (Jan. 10, 2018) – A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Thursday morning in a collision with a truck on the northbound Interstate 880 Freeway at the 7th Street off ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 5:39 a.m. The motorcyclist went down in the left lane of the freeway after hitting the truck. Paramedics responded to help the injured rider and transported him or her to a hospital with major injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by police to determine liability.
Oakland Accident Investigation
A full investigation into this accident is underway by police to determine liability. Police will seek to determine whether or not the motorist cut off the bike or veered into the motorcycle’s lane. Speed or distractions could also be factors. This is all yet to be determined.
It’s unclear at this time which driver is responsible for the collision, however, anyone who is hurt may seek to be compensated for all the medical expenses, lost wages, property damage and more.
