Oakland: Motorcycle, Big Rig Crash on Interstate 80

Major Injury Collision Near University Avenue Offramp

Oakland, CA (September 27, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 80 Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a man riding a motorcycle collided with a big rig in the westbound side of the freeway near the University Avenue offramp.

CHP logged the incident on September 23, Friday.

Shortly after 4:57 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck. Officials later confirmed one person sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. Pending confirmation, the name and age of the victim remained undisclosed.

Investigators stayed at the scene the whole afternoon. At this time, they continue to gather information to determine exactly how and why the accident happened on Interstate 80 in Oakland.
