Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Oakland Accident on Eastbound 580 Freeway
OAKLAND (September 20, 2019) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a traffic collision along the 580 Freeway Friday morning.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident was reported at about 8:19 a.m., just east of Broadway Auto Row.
According to CHP’s report log and The Mercury News, a motorcycle and a vehicle collided for an unknown reason in the eastbound lanes of the 580 Freeway.

Another car was also believed to have been involved in the wreck. One of the vehicles involved was described as a Ford Explorer.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found the rider suffering from major injuries as a result of the crash. The patient was then rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The name and condition of the wounded party at this time were not immediately available. Meanwhile, a driver involved reportedly stopped and cooperated with the officials.
A Sig Alert was issued, forcing the first and second lanes near the center divider to briefly shut down. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
