Pedestrian Critically Injured in Oakland Car Accident
OAKLAND, Calif. (July 22, 2021) — An Oakland pedestrian accident Wednesday night left a man in critical condition in the Adams Point area.
A driver in a silver Toyota Camry heading westbound on Grand Avenue struck the 23-year-old Oakland man as he crossed southbound in a marked crosswalk, according to East Bay Times.
Also, the victim is in critical condition after the 9:33 p.m. crash on July 21st at Perkins Street, police said.
Injured Oakland Man Taken to Hospital
Additionally, paramedics responded to the scene of the Oakland pedestrian accident. They also transported the injured man to a hospital. Authorities did not release his identity.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Oakland woman driving the car and her passenger were not injured. The motorist stopped and is cooperating with investigators.
While police did not suspect speed was a factor, they haven’t ruled out if drugs or alcohol were factors. Police did not mention if there were any citations or arrests.
