Man, 72, Victim in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run
DATE OF COLLISION: Thursday, December 27th
December 28, 2018- According to the East Bay Times, a deadly hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian was reported last night at the 1300 block of 85th Avenue.
Officials responded to the incident after receiving notification at roughly 5:20 p.m. after a man only being identified as a 72-year-old Oakland resident was struck by two vehicles as he crossed eastbound 85th Avenue.
Following the collision, both vehicles fled the scene without rendering aid leaving the victim behind who tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have been informed that the two vehicles involved closest resemble a white pickup and a red SUV.
At this time, no arrests have been made as both hit-and-run suspects remain at-large, per the East Bay Times.
No additional details have been provided as this story will be updated pending the disclosure of the victim’s name or any new information.
