
2 Hospitalized After Collision Near 66th Avenue
Oakland, CA (March 10, 2023) – Two people suffered injures following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 880 Freeway Wednesday night, March 8.
According to East Bay Times News, a collision between a Red Cross van carrying blood and a Nissan Xterra sport-utility vehicle took place in the southbound side of the freeway near 66th Avenue. Earlier reports indicate the force from the impact caused both vehicles to roll over several times.
Injury Traffic Crash on Interstate 880 in Oakland
Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 10:46 p.m. First responders found the driver of the Nissan trapped in the wreckage. The article published online mentioned firefighters freed the victim, then transported them to a hospital for further treatment. Authorities added the driver of the Red Cross van also sustained injuries, and had to be taken to the hospital. The names of the patients remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Investigators handling the case stayed at the scene the whole evening. They continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the crash that happened n Interstate 880 in East Oakland.
