Boy, 12, Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision at Cypress Road and Main Street Wednesday
Oakley, CA (August 25, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of East Cypress Road and Main Street.
The East Bay Times News reported the horrible crash involved a freight train and three vehicles. Our sources indicated one car rolled over due to the force from the impact.
Shortly after 12:53 p.m., East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to the railroad crossing. Paramedics at the scene reportedly rendered aid to the male juvenile found unconscious. Despite life-saving measures, the 12-year-old boy sadly died at the scene.

Authorities added a 19-year-old girl suffered serious injuries as a result of the wreck. Officials said a REACH medical helicopter transported the patient to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment.
The Oakley Union Elementary School District’s board later confirmed the deceased was a student at nearby Delta Vista Middle School.
At this time, investigators handling the case continue to work to determine exactly how and why the fatal accident in Oakley happened.
