Jet Skier Badly Hurt After Crash Near Sand Mound Slough Monday
OAKLEY, Ca (May 29, 2020) – One person suffered injuries following a boating accident along Soundmound Boulevard Monday, the East County Today News reported.
Our sources indicated a man riding a jet ski collided for an unknown reason into a boat, possibly a barge, near Sand Mound Slough.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., East Contra Costa Fire and the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office responded to the scene and found the female jet skier suffering in injuries. Engine 53 and Battalion 5 also reportedly arrived at the site and coordinated the helicopter to land.
Officials confirmed the injured 22-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, including head trauma. Per local news source, the patient was unconscious during the transfer.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was released on the people on board the boat involved.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
