Suspect in Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident Arrested
OAKLEY, Calif. (Nov. 30, 2022) — An Oakley pedestrian accident involving a hit-and-run driver happened Tuesday night in the downtown area.
The collision occurred about 7:10 p.m. on Nov. 29th, according to East Bay Times.
A woman driving a silver Honda Pilot SUV eastbound on Main Street reportedly struck another woman near Norcross Lane, but failed to stop and fled the scene. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at roughly 20 to 25 mph at the time of the crash, police said.
Paramedics responded to the crash scene and transported the injured woman to a hospital. She was treated for injuries to her head and arm following the collision.
Meanwhile, following the crash, authorities determined the SUV driver was shopping at the nearby Grocery Outlet prior to the collision. In an effort to find the suspect, they posted photos they got from the supermarket on social media. The female suspect was wearing a white cap and a black PPE mask in the still images.
Investigators continue to work on the case.
