Authorities ID Motorcyclist Killed in Watts Crash
WATTS, Calif. (June 27, 2022) – Obera Washington, 65, died in a motorcycle collision when a car turned left in front of the bike at Compton Avenue and Century Boulevard in the Watts area of South Los Angeles.
The two-vehicle crash occurred just after 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 25th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Obera Washington suffered major injuries in the crash and died at the scene, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner reported.
The motorcycle rider was reportedly traveling southbound on Compton Avenue when the driver of a northbound car turned left in front of him onto Century Boulevard, police said. The two vehicles collided at Compton Avenue and Century Boulevard.
Also, the driver in the car stopped and remained at the scene. It’s unknown if there are any charges pending.
Finally, the investigation into the motorcycle crash is ongoing.
