2 Injured in Crash on I-8 Freeway in Ocean Beach
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (April 1, 2022) — Two people were injured Thursday night in an Ocean Beach crash at the Interstate 8 Freeway and Sunset Cliffs Boulevard.
The collision occurred about 10:15 p.m. on March 31st, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
A Scion XB crashed into a traffic light pole in Ocean Beach. The driver reportedly fled the scene, leaving behind two injured passengers, according to the San Diego police department.
The crash happened at the end of westbound Interstate 8 Freeway. The motorist allegedly lost control as they were turning left to head south onto Sunset Cliffs Boulevard when the vehicle crashed, police said.
The two passengers left behind were men ages 32 and 34 years old. Both suffered minor injuries in the collision.
Meanwhile, police have not identified the driver and do not know if alcohol played a role in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
