Pedestrian Killed in Oceanside Crash on Mission Avenue Near Roymar and Foussat
OCEANSIDE, CA (September 10, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian on Mission Avenue near Roymar Road in Oceanside.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the collision at about 5:37 a.m.
The incident happened on September 9 when a pedestrian was walking across Mission Avenue in the city. The area is between the intersections of Roymar and Foussat roads.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Oceanside police said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him. Paramedics arrived and then found the victim down on the ground.
The patient sustained major head trauma and other significant injuries as a result of the accident. Medical personnel soon pronounced the person dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police said the driver stopped and stayed at the site following the collision. Officers forced a stretch of Mission Avenue to shut down for several hours after the incident.
The cause of the fatal Oceanside pedestrian crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at (760) 435-4431.
