Pedestrian struck and killed at Via Rancho Parkway and Purer Road
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2019) — A pedestrian who was walking in the middle of the roadway was struck and killed Tuesday at Via Rancho Parkway and Purer Road.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 7:11 p.m.
The driver told authorities that the victim was walking back and forth in the middle of the roadway and it was difficult to see them. The man was described as having black hair, a jean shirt with cut off sleeves and jeans.
The driver in a silver Infiniti M35 struck the victim in a fatal crash. Other vehicles stopped and were blocking the roadway where the man went down.
It appears the man died at the scene.
Police are heading up an investigation into liability for the collision.
