At Least 1 Hurt in Traffic Collision on San Diego (5) Freeway Monday
Oceanside, CA (September 9, 2021) – On September 6, Monday, a suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on the Interstate 5 near Highway 76.
The California Highway Patrol group reported two vehicles collided in the northbound side of I-5; also known as San Diego Freeway. Officials believed one of the cars involved in the accident was a red Toyota Prius.
Shortly after 10:46 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the location. Paramedics immediately attended to all possible victims in the crash. According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, at least one person suffered injuries as a result of the incident. Pending confirmation, the name of the victim and and the extent of their trauma have not been revealed thus far.

Authorities later confirmed a driver fled the scene after the collision. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
At this time, detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the hit-and-run crash in Oceanside.
