Man, 28, Arrested for Hit-and-run Crash; Pedestrian Hurt
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2022) — A hit-and-run driver who struck and injured a pedestrian on Redondo Drive last month was arrested Friday.
The Oceanside collision occurred back on Sept. 18th about 6:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
An unidentified 28-year-old man was crossing North Redondo Drive mid-block when the driver of a blue 2007 Ford Fusion struck him.
The motorist, also 28 years old, failed to stop and help the victim who was badly injured in the crash.
An air ambulance transported the injured man to a hospital where he was treated and later released.
Meanwhile, police later located the unoccupied Ford Fusion on Sept. 20th and eventually located its registered owner in Lake Elsinore. The man apparently confessed he was the suspect.
Police arrested the unidentified Lake Elsinore man on suspicion of felony hit and run and booked him into jail.
The Oceanside hit-and-run crash remains under investigation.
