Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Oceanside Crash on Eastbound State Route 78
OCEANSIDE, CA (May 25, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on State Route 78 at Jefferson Street in Oceanside.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the accident late Tuesday afternoon. According to their dispatch team, officers reported the wreck at around 5:53 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle and the motorcycle rider collided for an unknown reason in Oceanside. The two crashed on eastbound State Route 78 at Jefferson Street.
Motorcycle Collision at Jefferson Street
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They found the motorcyclist down in the slow lane as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound lanes of State Route 78 to close following the wreck. They did not mention if the other driver ended up hurt or if they stopped after the collision.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Oceanside crash.
