OCEANSIDE, California — According to an article by San Diego Union-Tribune, an Oceanside police officer suffered injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Douglas Drive in the afternoon of December 30.
At about 5:40 p.m., the officer stopped a red 2004 Toyota Corolla for a traffic violation near Pala Road. The driver, a 40-year-old man, was not compliant with the officer once he pulled over.
As per the report, the man then drove away, knocking the officer to the ground and striking the officer’s patrol car.
The officer was provided treatment for sustained cuts to his leg.
No further information was provided on the suspect. Investigation is underway.
