One Dead, One Injured in Small Plane Crash near Oceanside Airport
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (June 3, 2022) — A man was injured and a woman killed in an Oceanside small plane crash Friday afternoon near the airport on Foussat Road and State Route 76.
The plane crash happened about 1:45 P.M. on June 3rd, east of New Foussat Road , according to the Oceanside Fire Department. The single-engine Cessna 208B was attempting to land at the airport, but landed in a nose-dive position in a dirt field.
Firefighters responded to the scene near Oceanside Municipal Airport, according to the San Diego News 10.
One victim was airlifted to a trauma center and the other one was awaiting air transport. The woman later died from her injuries. Both of them were certified pilots
Investigators are looking into the cause of the Oceanside plane crash. The aircraft is owned by a skydiving company called GoJump America, but the pilots aboard at the time of the crash leased the plane.
