OCEANSIDE, California — According to an article by NBC San Diego, a 23-year-old female pedestrian was fatally struck by a car on Highway 76 near Foussat Road in the morning or January 1.
At about 5:16 a.m., officers received a report about a woman down on the westbound of the highway.
Emergency crews responded to the site shortly after the crash and found the reported woman lying on the ground. The female pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Further, officials affirmed the driver who struck her was not suspected of being under the influence.
Investigation is ongoing to determine charges and liabilities.
