Octavio Colin-Mondragon, 27, Hit and Badly Injured by Vehicle at Gaffey and 2nd Streets

DATE OF ACCIDENT: Monday, April 1st
April 12, 2019 – A 27-year-old man was seriously injured following an alleged hit-and-run collision in the area of Gaffey and 2nd Streets, Fox News reported.
The victim was identified as Octavio Colin-Mondragon.
Preliminary investigation revealed Colin-Mondragon was crossing the intersection Monday evening when he was hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at that time, and he was reportedly using the flashlight on his phone to help cars see him.
Following the collision, the driver who struck Colin-Mondragon apparently kept going.

Another motorist who witnessed the accident pulled over and rendered aid to Colin-Mondragon until paramedics arrived. Responding emergency teams rushed the victim to a hospital where he was determined to have suffered road burns all over his body and face.
Authorities handling the case continue to identity and locate the hit-and-run suspect. Further investigation is ongoing.
