Octavio Giron Hit and Killed by Vehicle Near Belleview Street Tuesday
SAN BERNARDINO, Ca (January 8, 2020) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Mount Vernon Avenue Tuesday, the Daily Bulletin News reported.
Officials said 28-year-old Octavio Giron walked into traffic on Mount Vernon near Belleview Street just before 6 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a passing Honda Civic failed to avoid and hit the pedestrian.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in San Bernardino, January 7
The collision resulted in fatal injuries to Giron, authorities confirmed. At this time, it remained unclear whether the victim died at the scene or at a hospital.
Meanwhile, our sources indicated the 23-year-old San Bernardino resident driving the Honda appeared unharmed after the accident.
Additional details on the case have not been revealed thus far. Investigators continue to determine if Giron was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
