WEST HOLLYWOOD, California (June 30, 2016) – A Los Angeles sheriff’s deputy sustained injuries as a result of a crash in the area of Clinton Street and Mansfield Avenue, according to an article by NBC Los Angeles.
The accident happened on June 28 at around 6:20 p.m.
In detail, the article mentioned an alleged car thief has been pursued by authorities. Then suddenly, the felon decided to ram a deputy at the scene who was getting out of her patrol SUV for an unrelated call.
The force from the impact resulted in the deputy suffering in leg injuries. The victim has been immediately taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified severity.
The suspect took off after the collision but has been later arrested after a manhunt. The felon has been identified as 24-year-old Melvin Williams.
