CHP Officer Struck by Car at Highway 41 and Bullard Avenue
FRESNO (August 21, 2017) – A California Highway Patrol officer was struck by a vehicle near Highway 41 and Bullard Avenue Monday afternoon, according to Fresnobee.
As per the article, the officer was standing half-inside his open vehicle door as he was writing a citation to a pulled-over motorist.
Suddenly for unknown reasons, a truck pulling a trailer crashed into the CHP vehicle. The collision forced the CHP car’s open door to slam into the officer’s body.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 4:05 p.m. and attended to the officer who was injured. The victim was transported to Kaiser Hospital in north Fresno for treatment of what appeared to be moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, investigators learned the involved truck was traveling east on Bullard Avenue before the collision happened. The driver was apparently reaching for an item and took his eyes off the road, leading to the crash.
No charges, and arrests relating to the accident have been made.
