Cop Hospitalized After Pursuit Ends in Collision Near McDonald’s
Lodi, CA (May 26, 2022) – A Lodi Police Department officer suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred in the area of Church and Oak Street.
According to Lodi News, the officer was chasing a black Mercedes Tuesday afternoon. Earlier reports indicated the pursuit began the McDonald’s located at 200 W. Lodi Avenue. When the patrol car and suspect vehicle approached the intersection at Church and Oak, they ended up crashing into each other. The force from the impact left the Mercedes facing south in northbound side of the 200 block of Church Street. On the other hand, the white City of Lodi pickup truck came to a rest facing east in the southbound of the roadway, and with major front-end damage.
Medical personnel arrived at the location shortly after 11:55 a.m. The article published online mentioned one officer sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Due to the condition of the victim, paramedics transported the patient to a local hospital for further treatment.
Authorities added the driver and passenger in the Mercedes were later arrested on on suspicion of felony evading; other felony charges; suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia; and multiple warrants.
Further investigation is ongoing on the car crash atChurch and Oak Street in Lodi.
