Pedestrian Injured in Oildale Hit-and-Run on El Tejon Avenue Near Wells
OILDALE, CA (November 21, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on El Tejon Avenue in Oildale.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the incident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the accident at about 12:13 a.m.
According to CHP, a white work truck hit the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Oildale. The vehicle hit the person at 223 El Tejon Avenue.
Truck Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the intersection with Wells Avenue. They found the victim hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Kern Medical for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the truck did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. The cause of the Oildale hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced a stretch of El Tejon Avenue to shut down following the collision.
