OJAI, California (July 28, 2016) – A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was seriously injured in a collision Thursday on Highway 150 (Santa Paula Ojai Road), according to KEYT.
The accident was reported just after 11:30 a.m., near Chumash Road.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 67-year-old man was riding a motorcycle with a 66-year-old woman east on the highway when at the same time a 2003 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck traveling in front tried to make a turn onto Chumas Road.
For an unknown reason, the motorcycle operator swerved to the right and crashed into the rear corner of the truck.
Both riders were ejected from their bike.
CHP affirmed that the 67-year-old man was flown to Ventura County Medical Center where he died. The 66-year-old female passenger was also transported to the same hospital to be treated for major injuries.
