Olena Gaines, 35, Victim in Hit-and-Run
DATE OF INCIDENT: Saturday, October 6th
October 8, 2018- According to Fox 40 News, Olena Gaines, 35, has been identified as the woman killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision over the weekend at Claratina Avenue and Oakdale Road.
Authorities responded to the collision which occurred around 5:00 p.m.
Modesto police have determined that the driver of a possible dark-colored SUV struck Olena Gaines after exiting the vehicle she was in following an argument with someone inside the car she had been in.
Gaines suffered fatal injuries and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, per Fox 40 News.
Meanwhile, the motorist involved failed to stop and continued to flee the scene, according to at least one witness who saw the events take place.
No arrests have been made at this time as the suspect remains at-large. Anyone with information is urged to phone the Modesto Police Department at 209-521-4636.
