Teen Passenger Killed in Car Accident on SR-70 Tuesday
Olivehurst, CA (May 4, 2021) – Two people died, including 17-year-old passenger, following a car crash on State Route 70 in Yuba County Tuesday noon.
The KCRA3 News reported a 56-year-old man was behind the wheel of a Lincoln Navigator traveling north on Highway 70. Preliminary investigation revealed a Honda Prelude started approaching the rear of the Lincoln in the area near Olivehurst Avenue.
According to the article published online, the driver of the Honda suddenly veered onto the east shoulder of the highway. In the process, the Honda struck the right side of the Lincoln.
The force from the impact caused the Honda to maneuver, careening back onto the highway. Officials said the driver lost control of the Honda and veered again into the east shoulder of the highway.
When emergency teams arrived at the site, they found the Honda smashed into a tree near the railroad tracks.
Double Fatal Car Crash in Olivehurst, May 4
Responding medical personnel immediately attended to the driver and passenger of the Honda. Our sources later confirmed the two parties sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. The California Highway Patrol group briefly described the deceased parties as a 20-year-old driver, and 17-year-old passenger.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Navigator, 56-year-old Ron Walline, appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the car crash in Olivehurst.
