San Diego Man Dies After Being Struck by Car in Early March Incident
San Diego, CA (March 28, 2025) — A 47-year-old homeless man, identified as Oliver Sevilla Oliveros, died more than a week after a San Diego pedestrian accident on March 6.
According to the San Diego Police Department, Oliveros was crossing the street around 9:10 p.m. when he was struck by a 2015 BMW sedan at 6th Avenue and Maple Street in San Diego.
The driver immediately stopped and called 911 for and emergency responders who quickly transported Oliver Sevilla Oliveros to a local hospital.
Upon arrival at Scripps Green Hospital, doctors determined he had multiple injuries and admitted him for further treatment.
However, despite medical efforts, his condition worsened over the next eleven days and he died at 3:35 a.m. on March 17.
The cause of death was confirmed as craniocerebral blunt force injuries, with no additional contributing factors.
The death has been classified as an accident and the San Diego Police Department is continuing its investigation.
This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing concerns regarding pedestrian safety in San Diego.
