Police Search for Fatal Hit-And-Run Motorist in Wilmington

 Olivia Espinoza, 56, Killed in Wilmington Crash E Street and Figueroa PlaceWILMINGTON, Calif. (April 18, 2022) – Olivia Espinoza, 56, died in a hit-and-run crash in Wilmington at E Street and Figueroa Place.

The homeless woman was apparently sleeping on a sidewalk in the Wilmington area. A driver in a white GMC SUV ran off the roadway and onto the sidewalk.

The deadly, collision happened about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 16th, according to to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run motorist responsible for the fatal crash.

The suspect reportedly exited the vehicle and fled the scene in a second car described as a Nissan Altima, police said.

Witnesses say the suspect fled eastbound on E Street, leaving the GMC SUV abandoned on the sidewalk, police said.

There is a standing reward of up to $50,000 available to anyone who provides tips that help the city of Los Angeles solve a fatal hit-and-run.
