Driver Killed, Passenger Injured in Crash near USC
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2020) – Omar Kenyatta, 42, of Hawthorne, died Thursday morning when a Range Rover overturned and struck a tree near USC in Los Angeles.
Kenyatta was the driver of the Range Rover. His passenger was critically injured in the solo-vehicle crash, according to CBS News.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported the crash took place just after midnight near Figueroa Street and 37th Street. It’s believed the driver was traveling at high speed when the vehicle crashed.

The driver who died was identified by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner. Meanwhile, the passenger was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The extent of the person’s injuries and their identity was not released.
Meanwhile, there were few details about the crash and police are piecing together evidence to determine fault. At this time, it doesn’t appear that any other motorists were involved. It’s unknown whether or not drugs and or alcohol were factors in the crash.
