Omar Moreno, 35, Killed in Barrio Logan Crash on Harbor Drive
BARRIO LOGAN, San Diego County (November 21, 2017) – 35-year-old Omar “El Nene” Moreno was killed in a traffic accident on Harbor Drive near Naval Base San Diego Monday morning, according to Fox 5.
Officials said Moreno, a worker at the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company, was pronounced deceased at the scene after colliding with a tanker truck.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. when Moreno was riding a motorcycle on westbound Harbor Drive near West 8th Street. As per the article, the truck suddenly turned left into a gas station and went across the path of the motorcycle.
Reports indicated that Moreno tried to stop but was unable to avoid the collision as he laid down his bike and slid into the truck.
Moreno was survived by his wife and six children, as per the article.
Meanwhile, no immediate information has been released regarding the semi-truck driver as San Diego police officials are currently investigating the collision.
