Omar Ortiz, 40, Killed in Palmdale Crash at Avenue M and 20th Street East
PALMDALE (September 25, 2019) – A driver killed after a traffic collision in the area of Avenue M and 20th Street East last week has been identified.
The coroner’s office said 40-year-old Omar Dominguez Ortiz died following the accident which was reported on September 19 at about 11:50 a.m.
According to an article published by The Antelope Valley Times, the incident began when the San Bernardino man was driving a Honda Fit eastbound on the road.

At the same time, a Waste Management truck was making a left turn from 20th Street east onto Avenue M. For an unknown reason, the two vehicles collided at the intersection.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department affirmed that Ortiz was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the operator of the garbage truck was also hospitalized with minor injuries. The name and condition of the patient were not disclosed. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
