STOCKTON, California (May 6, 2016) – One was hospitalized after a traffic collision on the Interstate 5 Freeway Friday afternoon, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch. (map)
The crash possibly involving four vehicles took place about 2:40 p.m. in the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway, just south of March Lane.
As per the dispatch, one person was freed after being trapped in one of the cars involved. Paramedics took at least one victim from a white vehicle to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
The name and condition of the patient at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, CHP mentioned that a purple big rig carrying woods was also involved in the accident. The semi-truck continued southbound on the freeway following the wreck.
It was not specified in the report if the incident was a hit-and-run. The investigation is ongoing.
