Pedestrian Accidents in Fresno County Raise Concerns

One in 4 Fatal Crashes in Fresno County are Pedestrian DeathsThe Fresno County Sheriff Coroner reports that roughly one out of every four fatal vehicle collisions in the county are pedestrian deaths.

Overall, 57 of the 470 pedestrian deaths in traffic accidents across the state of California were in Fresno County. Additionally, the city of Fresno ranks as one of the top 10 deadliest cities for pedestrians in the nation, according to a Smart Growth America study.

Furthermore, the states of California, Florida and Texas had the greatest number of fatalities last year, according to statistics compiled by the Governors Highway Safety Association.
