ONTARIO, California (August 3, 2016) –An 84-year-old Jurupa Valley woman identified as Barbara Jean Crayton was killed Tuesday night when the SUV she was riding in crashed into the back of a big rig truck at Jurupa Street and Sarah Place, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The fatal crash took place about 9:12 p.m.
The report stated that Barbara Crayton was a front seat passenger in a 2000 Mercedes SUV that was heading eastbound on Jurupa Street when the driver crashed into the back of the semi-tractor trailer truck.
Paramedics responded, but the 84-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The Ontario Police Department is heading up the investigation into the collision to determine liability.
