Ontario Car Accident State Route 60, Grove Avenue (Feb. 28)
Multiple-Vehicle Collision Blocks Lanes on SR-60 West
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (Feb. 28, 2025) — A multi-vehicle Ontario car accident happened Friday morning on the westbound lanes of State Route 60 near Grove Avenue, resulting in significant traffic delays.
The crash caused significant traffic when it occurred around 10:59 AM on Feb. 28th, 2025. There were up to five vehicles involved, including a grey Nissan Altima, a gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, a white Lexus SUV, a dark grey Infiniti, a white work van, and a semi-truck was stopped on the right shoulder, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Authorities say the driver of the blue Nissan allegedly lost control of their vehicle. The car began spinning several times in traffic lanes before colliding with several other vehicles. The vehicles involved in the crash were scattered across several lanes. As a result, several of the middle and right lanes were blocked, including the #5 lane and HOV lanes.
The CHP and emergency crews responded as well as at least one tow truck for the gray Nissan, which was among the damaged vehicles. An ambulance transported one person from the Nissan to Kaiser Ontario with undisclosed injuries.
The collision highlights the risks of sudden loss of control on busy highways, particularly in the presence of multiple vehicles. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing, with officials seeking further information from witnesses and drivers involved.
Motorists traveling westbound on SR-60 during the incident were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Authorities have cleared the lanes, but delays may continue as traffic returns to normal.
Finally, the CHP urges drivers to stay vigilant on the road, especially when navigating high-traffic areas and during unpredictable driving conditions.
