3 Killed, 3 Seriously Injured in Orange Cove Crash at Hills Valley and Manning
ORANGE COVE, CA (February 16, 2023) – A crash killed and seriously injured several people at Hills Valley Road and Manning Avenue in Orange Cove.
According to The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on February 16 shortly after 2 p.m.
The incident happened when a maroon Honda van was going north on Hills Valley Road, approaching Manning Avenue, in Orange Cove. At the same time, a red Dodge pickup truck was traveling south.
For an unknown reason, the pickup truck made an unsafe turn and drifted into the path of the Honda van. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the two collided head-on.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and soon pronounced both male drivers and a male passenger in the van dead at the scene.
Three more occupants of the van sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. An air ambulance flew one of them and a ground ambulance rushed the other two to the hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded patients have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Hills Valley and Manning to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Orange Cove crash is still under investigation.
