2 Killed, 1 Injured in Orange Cove Crash at Manning Avenue and Hills Valley Road
ORANGE COVE, CA (August 8, 2022) – A crash killed two people and injured one person at Manning Avenue and Hills Valley Road in Orange Cove.
According to The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around noon.
The incident began when a Toyota 4Runner ran a stop sign at the intersection of Manning Avenue and Hills Valley Road. In the process, the SUV drove into the path of a commercial big rig.
The car then slammed into the semi-truck, just south of Orange Cove.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Big Rig
The California Highway Patrol said both vehicles rolled over due to the impact of the collision. The Toyota became fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the driver and passenger of the SUV dead at the scene. The operator of the big rig sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a Tulare County hospital for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Manning and Hills Valley to shut down for three hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Orange Cove crash is still under investigation.
