Man Killed in Orange Crash at Sycamore Avenue and Main Street
ORANGE, CA (July 18, 2021) – A man was killed after a DUI crash at Sycamore Avenue and Main Street in Orange.
The incident happened when a Mazda Protege was in a left turn lane, waiting to transition from northbound Main Street to westbound Sycamore Avenue.
Speeding DUI Driver Hits Another Car
At the same time, a Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed. Orange police said the Honda slammed into the rear of the Mazda.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the Orange man driving the Mazda dead at the scene. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police determined that the male driver of the Accord was under the influence when he hit the other car. They soon arrested him on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
