Pickup Crashes Under Dump Truck on 261 Toll Road
ORANGE, Calif. (July 12, 2018) — At least one person died early Thursday morning when a pickup truck crashed underneath a dump truck on the southbound state Route 261 toll road, near the Santiago Canyon Road on ramp, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 5:44 a.m. this morning, the CHP reports. A white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was found underneath the dump truck following the collision. It’s unknown what led to the two vehicles colliding, but a full investigation is underway.
Police issued a SigAlert and Caltrans made a hard closure of a portion of the roadway.
