ORANGE, California (October 5, 2016) — A motorcyclist and a truck collided Wednesday morning in a crash on the southbound State Route 55 Orange Freeway at Chapman Avenue East on ramp, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The CHP report stated a motorcycle was down in the HOV lane about 7:16 a.m. this morning. the driver of the red pickup truck stopped in the HOV lane to help. The rider was also in the HOV lane laying down after the crash. Police stated the No. 1 lane was also partially blocked and issued a SigAlert for at least one hour.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help the injured motorcyclist and anyone else who may have been hurt in the crash.
Orange County Car Accidents
There were 165 people killed and 13,837 injured in 2013 Orange County traffic accidents, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide integrated Traffic Report. Thirty motorcyclists were killed in the county and 989 were injured in crashes that year. In the city of Orange, one motorcyclist was killed and 70 were injured in crashes in 2013, the CHP statistics report said.
