Man Struck and Killed on Hazel Avenue in Sacramento County

ORANGEVALE, Calif. (July 2, 2024) — A fatal Orangevale pedestrian accident happened Monday morning at Hazel Avenue, just south of Greenback Lane in Sacramento County.

The deadly collision occurred at around 7:48 a.m. on July 1st, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.

A woman driving a silver Ford Fusion reportedly struck the man who was standing on the center median of Hazel Avenue.

Police and Sacramento Fire Department paramedics responded and located the older male pedestrian with major injuries.

The woman’s Ford Fusion had a smashed windshield and was stopped in a nearby Bank of America parking lot.

An ambulance transported the injured man to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. His identity will be released after relatives are notified.

Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the damaged car and it will be stored for evidence while investigators work to determine fault for the crash.

The case remains under investigation.
