LOS BANOS, California — According to an article by Merced Sun-Star, a male passenger died in a solo-car accident that took place on Interstate 5 freeway near Highway 165.
The fatal crash happened on March 20 just before 2:45 p.m.
As per police officers, a 2000 Ford F-250 was traveling on the southbound of the interstate when it suffered a flat tire, causing the driver to turn right, then collided with the embankment before the truck overturned and came to rest on its roof.
Paramedics arrived shortly and pronounced the male passenger killed at the scene. The deceased was briefly described as a 70-year-old Oregon man.
Meanwhile, the Ford driver was identified as 60-year-old Linda Hamilton, of Selma. Hamilton reportedly sustained major injuries from the collision and was taken to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the deadly accident to determine charges and liabilities.
