Motorcycle Driver Killed, Passenger Injured in Collision Near Ira Avenue
Orosi, CA (September 6, 2022) – One person died, and two others suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 63, according to the Fresno Bee.
Auto vs. Motorcycle Accident on State Route 63 in Orosi
On Monday, a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle collided with a Toyota car in the area just north of Ira Avenue. Preliminary investigation revealed the the 59-year-old male motorcycle driver was heading south on the highway in Orosi. When the rider approached Ira Avenue, a Toyota made an unsafe turn and drove directly in front of the bike.
The California Highway Patrol group mentioned the force from the impact ejected both the motorcycle driver, and his 49-year-old female passenger. When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found both riders suffering in injuries. Paramedics rushed the man and the woman to Kaweah Health Medical Center.
During transport, the motorcycle operator sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Meanwhile, the passenger arrived at the hospital with major injuries. Personal information on the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Authorities added the driver of the Toyota driver sustained minor injuries in the collision.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal crash that happened on State Route 63 in Orosi.
