Tim McCaskill Critically Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 162
OROVILLE, Calif. (Jan. 25, 2024) — Tim McCaskill of Oroville was critically injured in a crash between two pickup trucks Wednesday on State Route 162 or Highway 162 at Wilbur Road in Oroville.
The traffic accident occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 24th, according to a statement on Facebook by the Oroville CHP station.
Investigators determined a driver in a Ford pickup truck was “attempting to cross SR-162 from Wilbur Road, but the driver of the Ford failed to realize a Chevrolet pickup was approaching from the east,” the CHP report said.
The driver in the Chevrolet was unable to avoid hitting the Ford and broadsided the pickup truck. The collision left the driver of the Chevrolet pickup with major injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Enloe Hospital and then airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento due to major injuries including facial and leg fractures as well as a brain bleed.
The injured man, identified as Tim McCaskill, remains hospitalized on Thursday.
Finally, police do not suspect alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision and the investigation into what happened is still ongoing.
